About us

Well we like to think of ourselves as a happy cluster rather than a clunky chain.  Simply put we are a small family owned & award winning café group based in the West Country who pride ourselves on serving outstanding coffee & tea & creating delicious, affordable, feel-good food with products sourced from ethical & local suppliers.

Established in 1996 we have always aimed to be the antithesis of the homogenised high street dining experience & we operate today on the same principles that were established when BTP first opened its doors - to operate fairly, to offer high quality local products at affordable prices & to employ an informed, intelligent and committed workforce.

Each of our cafes is designed to be a ‘one off’, a cherished local with close links to the community, fostered by our commitment to supporting local artists, charities & businesses through allowing the cafe's space & community notice boards to be used to promote events & organisations.  We are not looking for a homogenised look or feel to our cafés & we buy a range of idiosyncratic furniture, the style of which is dictated by what’s available at the time.   We see ourselves as a chameleon taking on the character of the local environments we find ourselves in, be it urban Stokes Croft or rural Honiton.  This is an expensive option but in our opinion the benefits far outweigh the costs.

A common thread that weaves its way through our business is the quality of the product, the service and the people.   We procure top quality regional ethical produce, be it West Country organic milk or free range West Country meat, at very competitive prices.  This in turn enables us to offer our customers exceptional value for money.  We are able to invest in state of the art kitchens which allow virtually everything we sell to be made on-site.  The expensive kitchen fit outs & logistical challenges are worth the results that we get.  We employ Anita, our Food Manager, who does nothing but think of yummy things to offer our customers & tours the cafes to make sure we get it just right.  It is the people & the products that make what we do at Boston rather special.
