The story of Boston Tea Party, Coffee Kids & the ‘KeepCup’

At the beginning of 2011 we launched a new initiative which saw us partner up with two of the coffee industry’s most exciting organisations: ‘Coffee Kids’ & ‘KeepCup’.

Our hope was not only to raise vital funds for ‘Coffee Kids’ to help in their excellent work supporting the coffee farming families of Latin America but also to reduce the amount of waste that we produce through promoting the use of the brilliant reusable ‘KeepCup’.

The ‘BTP KeepCup’ is available in-store at £7.95 & comes with a free coffee to try it out.  All the profits from the sale of our 'KeepCup' are donated to 'Coffee Kids'.

Through this scheme we hope to make a bold statement about our responsibility to society & the environment.  By purchasing a ‘BTP KeepCup’ our customers will not only be helping farmers improve their quality of life, their crop & their education opportunities but will also be part of reducing the amount of waste created by take away coffee cups.  We hope that with the help of our customers we will be able to generate enough to become the largest single donor to the charity in the UK.

A bit about the organisations….

Coffee Kids is the world’s leading coffee specific-charity who’s goal it is to help build a sustainable future for coffee farmers & their children through education & resource support.  They work with the coffee-farming communities in Latin America through projects in education, health awareness, microcredit & food security.  These efforts allow coffee farmers to reduce their dependence on the volatile coffee market & confront the most pressing needs of the community.  All projects are designed by community members & based on their needs & priorities.
