“God save our gracious queen, long live our dum de dum……” oh dear - sorry about that – getting a bit patriotically carried away there what with all this jubilee excitement.
Unsurprisingly we are rather keen on the odd historic moment here at the Boston Tea Party & a tea fit for a queen is just our sort of thing.
At BTP we do like to do things properly & frankly any excuse to get dressed up, make our cafes look pretty & have a party is just fine with us. So from Saturday, 2nd until Tuesday, 5th June we shall be having four days of festivities.
It must be our historic roots that’s making us all lovely & nostalgic because we fancied a bit of a trip back in time to when it all began for old Queenie & those heady days of sing-alongs by the piano, village fete games & when it was OK to wear a bow tie.
Each of our cafes will be doing their own take on the theme so keep a watch on the usual social media channels to find out what to expect where as the fun draws closer.
We shall of course be serving a proper afternoon tea – fabulous finger sandwiches, homemade scones with Westcountry clotted cream & jam, a cluster of the usual delicious cakes & a choice of our lovely loose leaf teas - all served as they ought to be on cake stand & in a proper tea pot.
